ANNA MIHALOVA – Dance Instructor/ Performer

Anna was born in Bulgaria and started dancing at the age of six, where she found a passion for Ballet (2 years of training). At the age of 10 she began with the Ballroom dances, excelled in them, and started winning competitions and creating a name for herself along the way.

Her first experience with Salsa was at a workshop with Edie the Salsa Freak.

She was amazed by this very dramatic and vivid dance and began practicing and dancing with some of the finest European Salsa dancers.

Anna Mihalova is one of the premier instructors, dancers and choreographers in the Middle East. Why? Because of her extensive knowledge of Dance and Salsa, her dancing skills, and her excellent teaching abilities, - when put together they have men and women coming

In 2000 Anna arrived in Bahrain, Middle East. While there she launched the first Salsa website – bahrainsalsa.com, established the first Salsa classes in 2001, and later on the first Latin Dance Institute – Bailar Latino Institute. The Institute was the culmination of two years of hard work and teaching five days a week.

“In the beginning many people did not know Salsa”- commented Anna in an interview for Bahrain This Months Magazine – “Salsa is about learning the music, personalizing it and translating it to your partner”. The Institute offered nine variety of dances: Salsa, Samba, Meringue, Bachata, Rumba, Cha Cha, Jive, Paso Doble and Tango.

In 2007 Anna moved to Rhode Island, USA. Since then she has dedicated her time to traveling around the country and practicing with some of the finest Salsa instructors.

When you watch Anna teach, dance or perform, you do not see someone who just happened to be good by chance. She has danced and trained hard for over twenty years, many of them as a professional. Added to this is a wealth of knowledge in several other forms of dance which gives her a great understanding of body mechanics which is an essential requirement for all teachers and dancers.

But the main reason for her ability to dance and teach so well, besides her natural abilities, is that dancing and performing is food for her spirit, it is her driving force, it is her vocation, and above all it is her PASSION!!!

Qualifications:

Certified Zumba Instructor

Certified in Fitness and Aerobics with supplement for instructor and consultant activity

Member of the International Dance Teachers Association

Member of the Bulgarian Dance Sport Federation

Over 20 years of dance experience

Over 12 years of teaching experience - Europe, Middle East and USA
